AN EVERYDAY OCCASION

AN EVERYDAY OCCASION
Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Genesis 2:17; Hebrews 9:27 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. … it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Christian friend Guinevere (NRN) called this week to notify us that having completed tests and being informed that with treatment she could live 18-24 months, without treatment 3 to 6 months. She has opted for no treatment.
How could she possibly arrive at the decision to give up a possible additional 15 to 18 months of life?
·         Living her life as believer trusting God, seeing life in term eternal.
·         Living her life as believer trusting Jesus efficacy, seeing “terminal” as “transitional”.
·         Living her life as believer trusting The Great Physician, seeing Him as the center of health.
·         Living her life believing The Word written and Living, seeing death as “An everyday occasion.”
Guinevere’s decision stands true to God, far above the maddening crowd fearfully clamoring for extreme healthcare to provide a few more moments this side of transit.
Considering the reality of our already living in eternity, trial here being brief span within everlasting, knowing physical death inevitable, how do we plead?

THE PORTAL TO HEAVEN?

THE PORTAL TO HEAVEN?
Tuesday, January 30, 2018

John [ESV] 3:1-18 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.  If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Ken Ham, president of Answers In Genesis (answersingenesis.org), interviewed by a secular reporter, was asked “Do you believe Muslims are going to hell?”
An interesting question to be sure but actually no different than the standing query; Who goes to heaven, Anglicans, Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Buddhists, Pentecostals, Seventh Day Adventists, or Evangelicals?
Jesus, speaking as the only begotten Son of God (Jn.3:16), made the answer quite plain as is recorded several places. Unless we are born again we cannot see the kingdom of God. (Jn.3:3-7)
Trusting Lord Jesus Christ, one gains everlasting life immediately; doing nothing, one remains eternally condemned. (Jn.3:15-21) He alone is resurrection and life now and forever; the only way to the Father. (Jn.11:25; 14:6) With absolute clarity Jesus explained that there is no other portal than He. (Jn.10:9)
So the answer is: No one goes to heaven or hell because of the church or denomination they belong to or are involved in. Eternal placement singularly has to do with faith relationship with Lord Jesus Christ, or the lack thereof.
EBB4

PS. Oddly, Evangelicals, a major group crossing Christian denominational lines, made up of those professing trust in Jesus for salvation, 57% of which in a survey a few years ago indicated they believe there is more than one way to heaven -- trust Jesus but deny Jesus game that gives a whole additional meaning to the question “Who goes to heaven?”

CAPTIVE OF IGNORANCE

CAPTIVE OF IGNORANCE
Monday, January 29, 2018

Colossians [ESV] 1:1-29 …because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel,…
James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

You drive a newfangled keyless entry/start vehicle and love the convenience. The mall stores are closing for the night. Due to the many shoppers you had to park some distance away. It begins to precipitate heavily as you, arms loaded with packages, walk to your vehicle. Nothing happens. No lights blinking. No nothing.
Remembering the old fashioned key lock in the driver’s door . . . “Okay” you say as you fumble for the key while juggling packages. Once you and bundles are ensconced safe and dry you move your hand to activate START.  Nothing happens.
The battery has gone dead in the fob!
“WHAT TO DO?” comes to mind.
Then you think “I’ll bet there’s something about this situation in that shrink-wrapped manual in the glove compartment. ??”
Then, for some odd reason you recall something a childhood Sunday School teacher said, “God’s children fail because of a lack of knowledge.” (Hos.4:6)
EBB4

PS. Fob batteries last about 2 years. If your vehicle is so equipped, you can hold dead fob against START button until hearing chime, chirp, or other signal. Then push the button. Then asap drive to BATTERIES+ or some other such store.

FIRST OF ALL

FIRST OF ALL
Sunday, January 28, 2018

Psalm 1:1-6  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Luke 11:34-35  Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness.

The lens thru which we see either distorts or clarifies our worldview; self, family, friends, neighbors, nation, the world, occupation, vocation, abilities, assets . . . everything. If our lens is not the Word of God then we see according to the counsel of the ungodly. Jesus encouraged bona fide single sourcing and investment. (Mt.5:48; 6:19-23; Lk.11:34-35) James stated a major chaotic result of olio thinking. (Jam.1:8)
How we define base-line sanity is lens determining, which is why I pondered and wrote on the question in December. (How does our view of sanity affect our attitude toward others?)
Here’s another lens exercise: 1. Which is older, Judaism or Christianity? 2. What personal and/or cultural difference does my answer make?
I await your responses and will publish them in a few days.

DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH

DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH

2Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Hebrew 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
James [KJV] 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Pondering dividing the Word of Truth, I considered Bible verses taken apart from the greater context; one example being that work is man’s sinful resultant curse though actually holy assignment from our Creator. (Gen.1:28-31; 2:15, 20a) Looking at work as something to be avoided by all means is to err seriously from His wisdom, and thereof great blessing lost. (Will we work in future life? What does the Word say?)
Affecting shunning of work is embraced curse for both individual and nation. We don’t have to be a history major to see that “Living on the dole.” entitlement lifestyle as opposed to honorable able-bodied work according to ability has destroyed more than one civilization.
Along with rejecting work is another injurious wrongly divisiveness. It is the Gnostic belief from ancient pagan Greek thought and philosophy: The concept that there is a spiritual world and a physical world; Spiritual being higher, the physical lower. The present common cataloging being Spiritual versus physical, as though physical is distinctly different category than spiritual.
This dualistic mindset is both congregant and congregational harmful, suppressing God’s Holy Spirit and thereby hindering our holy assignment. (1Thes.5:18-19)
To believe that “full-time Christian service” comes under title different than holy dedicated garbage collector, lawyer, ditch digger, engineer, tradesman, artist et al . . . and that service requires seminary lettering, pastor, overseas missionary is detrimental to overall health and vigor of the body of Christ. Lack of healthy balance may have more to do with toe than head.
How can we possibly live with cheerful heart in godly preservation with power if we live a divided life?  (Prov.17:22; 1Thes.5:23) Unless we live with renewed thinking, we cannot! (Rom.12:1-3)
All that trust Lord Jesus Christ, whatever their position in life are called to full-time service. (Mt.16:24-25; Philemon)
I close with Paul’s exhortation on the matter: “Brothers and sisters, in view of all we have just shared about God's compassion, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you. Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect. Because of the kindness that God has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what God has given each of you as believers. Our bodies have many parts, but these parts don't all do the same thing. [1Cor.12:1-31] ... Don't be lazy in showing your devotion. Use your energy to serve the Lord. Be happy in your confidence, be patient in trouble, and pray continually. … Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good.’” (GW Rom.12:1-21)   EBB4

PS. Over the years I’ve compiled a how-to Bible study file. It contains much of what I personally have learned about Bible study in 57+ years. Recently I’ve reviewed and redacted it. I’m making it available to those that request it. If you have email you would receive it that way. If a postal subscriber or inmate , upon request you would receive it via postal mail. There are 2 versions. One is 12 pages of basics, and for the serious digger the other is 62 pages. Be specific as to which file, short or long, you are requesting.

Be sure to provide your address.

GOD'S PLAN FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

GOD”S PLAN FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
Thursday, January 25, 2018

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

It’s been a while since I’ve left the serious side and felt merry. It began last evening when Ian and Shandree arrived home from grocery shopping at Aldi’s.  Such whooping and laughing as they made spaghetti! They were so loud I could hear their rambunctiousness thru my wireless TV headphones!!
Then this morning I laughed as I enjoyed friend Marilyn’s message:

Most seniors never get enough exercise.  In His wisdom God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys, and other things, thus doing more walking.  And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was another need.  In His wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things, requiring them to bend, reach, and stretch.  And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God considered the function of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature, requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise.  God looked down and saw that it was good.

So if you find, as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it's God's will.  It is all in your best interest even though you mutter under your breath.

CANNOT BE BOXED

CANNOT BE BOXED
Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Genesis 2:7-22 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. …  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. ….  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man …
John 3:1-18 … even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

There are people that try to understand mankind by categorizing people in chart boxes and files.
Some time ago someone showed me some charts in a discover-and-appreciate-yourself book written by a few Ph.D.s, exclaiming in great relief “See, that’s me . . . now I completely understand myself!”
When I pointed out a few of their characteristics that didn’t mesh in their sector of some of the charts: For one, an item saying analytical individuals have difficulty making decisions. Whereas, though analytical, the friend gathered facts and quickly arrived at a conclusion, decided, and took action. Whereas another acquaintance never analyzed any issue and was expensively indecisive.
My friend immediately looked troubled (Optimal fragility in response to outside stimuli; a trait in a different sector.), looked thoughtful . . . and then with realization declared “I’m unique, aren’t I?!!”
God made Adam, then built Eve uniquely different, and has done so with men and women ever since. We may say “She/he is just like ______!!!” but this is never quite so.
Examining the Hebrew in Genesis chapter 2 we find that God squeezed Adam into shape from the elements, dust, earth, at hand; whereas He took a rib from Adam and built Eve. And He has been wondrously forming us ever since.
There is only one characteristic we have in common. A book has been compiled on the normal inherent  trait of humanity: We all are sinful, needing redemption, with Jesus being the only trustworthy Redeemer.
Analytical or not, it is decision that definitely requires agreement with God to escape eternal condemnation.

THE GOLDEN RULE

THE GOLDEN RULE
Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Gotquestions.org: "What is the Golden Rule?"

The “Golden Rule” is the name given to a principle Jesus taught in His Sermon on the Mount. The actual words “Golden Rule” are not found in Scripture, just as the words “Sermon on the Mount” are also not found. These titles were later added by Bible translation teams in order to make Bible study a little easier. The phrase “Golden Rule” began to be ascribed to this Jesus’ teaching during the 16th–17th centuries.
What we call the Golden Rule refers to Matthew 7:12: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus knew the human heart and its selfishness. In fact, in the preceding verse, He describes human beings as innately “evil” (verse 11). Jesus’ Golden Rule gives us a standard by which naturally selfish people can gauge their actions: actively treat others the way they themselves like to be treated.
The English Standard Version translates the Golden Rule like this: “Whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus brilliantly condenses the entire Old Testament into this single principle, taken from Leviticus 19:18: “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” Again, we see the implication that people are naturally lovers of self, and the command uses that human flaw as a place to start in how to treat others.
People universally demand respect, love, and appreciation, whether they deserve it or not. Jesus understood this desire and used it to promote godly behavior. Do you want to be shown respect? Then respect others. Do you crave a kind word? Then speak words of kindness to others. “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). The Golden Rule is also part of the second greatest commandment, preceded only by the command to love God Himself (Matthew 22:37–39).
What is interesting to note about the Golden Rule is that no other religious or philosophical system has its equal. Jesus’ Golden Rule is not the “ethic of reciprocity” so commonly espoused by non-Christian moralists. Frequently, liberal critics and secular humanists attempt to explain away the uniqueness of the Golden Rule, saying it is a common ethic shared by all religions. This is not the case. Jesus’ command has a subtle, but very important, difference. A quick survey of the sayings of Eastern religions will make this plain:

• Confucianism: "Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you" (Analects 15:23)
• Hindusim: “This is the sum of duty: do not do to others what would cause pain if done to you” (Mahabharata 5:1517)
• Buddhism: “Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful" (Udanavarga 5:18)

These sayings are similar to the Golden Rule but are stated negatively and rely on passivity. Jesus’ Golden Rule is a positive command to show love proactively. The Eastern religions say, “Refrain from doing”; Jesus says, “Do!” The Eastern religions say it is enough to hold your negative behavior in check; Jesus says to look for ways to act positively. Because of the “inverted” nature of the non-Christian sayings, they have been described as the “silver rule.”
Some have accused Jesus of “borrowing” the idea of the Golden Rule from the Eastern religions. However, the texts for Confucianism, Hinduism, and Buddhism, cited above, were all written between 500 and 400 BC, at the earliest. Jesus takes the Golden Rule from Leviticus, written about 1450 BC. So, Jesus’ source for the Golden Rule predates the “silver rule” by about 1,000 years. Who “borrowed” from whom?
The command to love is what separates the Christian ethic from every other religion’s ethic. In fact, the Bible’s championing of love includes the radical command to love even one’s enemies (Matthew 5:43–44; cf. Exodus 23:4–5). This is unheard of in other religions.
Obeying the Christian imperative to love others is a mark of a true Christian (John 13:35). In fact, Christians cannot claim to love God if they don’t actively love other people as well. “If someone says, ‘I love God’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen” (1 John 4:20). The Golden Rule encapsulates this idea and is unique to the Judeo-Christian Scriptures.

MIND WRAP?

MIND WRAP?
Monday, January 22, 2018

Matthew 13:11 He [Jesus] answered and said unto them [the disciples], Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Luke 8:10 And he [Jesus]said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
1Corinthians 4:1; 13:2 [Paul explained] Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. … And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing.

There are spiritual truths that are difficult, if at all, to wrap our mind around. If not for the large body of proofs this lack of total comprehension may deter us. That I have yet to fully understand electricity does deter me from utilizing its benefits in a multitude of ways. Limited enlightenment should not limit us adversely.
Do I believe in the truth of John 1:1? I do. Do I completely understand? No. Nor do I think I shall ever fully do so this side of death. But in the light that I have I desire to walk and serve God.
I share some other verses I am seized by this morning.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 11:9-10 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
John 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
1John1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

RETHINKING

  RETHINKING       Thursday, January 18, 2018

Romans [ESV] 12:1-3 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has ssigned.

We, as followers of Christ are to be relentless rethinkers.
  But why?
Along with the reason to discern truly worshipping God by pleasing Him, two important reasons:

       > Without studying and appropriating His Word we remain nominal heaven bound Christians.
1Corinthians [GW] 3:9-16 We are God's coworkers. Your are God's field. You are God's building. As a skilled and experienced builder, I used the gift that God gave me to lay the foundation for that building. However, someone else is building on it. Each person must be careful how he builds on it. After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ. People may build on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw. The day will make what each person does clearly visible because fire will reveal it. That fire will determine what kind of work each person has done. If what a person has built survives, he will receive a reward. If his work is burned up, he will suffer loss. [Rom.14:1-12; 2Cor.5:10] However, he will be saved, though it will be like going thruough a fire. Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

       > Without studying and appropriating His Word we cannot serve as faithful ambassadors of reconciliation. 2Corinthians [ESV] 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin that knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

In his essay THE SCANDAL OF BIBLICAL ILLITERACY Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. explained "We will not believe more than we know, and we will not live higher than our beliefs. The many fronts of Christian compromise in this generation can be directly traced to biblical illiteracy in the pews and the absence of biblical preaching and teaching in our homes and churches."
Last evening at Pastor John's provocation I began rethinking a lack of understanding. And today for you and I, what will we be rethinking?

THE GREATEST ABILITY?

THE GREATER ABILITY?
Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Deuteronomy [ESV] 7:9-11 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, and repays to their face those who hate him, by destroying them. He will not be slack with one who hates him. He will repay him to his face. You shall therefore be careful to do the commandment and the statutes and the rules that I command you today. [Ps.36:5; Isa.11:5
1Corinthians 4:1-2 This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
Hebrews 6:17-20 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

I am extremely conscious of heritage; to leave a legacy of proper honorable tradition. This did not begin with homeschooling our two youngest grandchildren, but certainly increased and facilitated its work in word and deed. It began with family ethics, then Boy Scouts, others, and after trusting Christ at age 27, trustworthiness realized as a theme in the Word living (Jn.1:1; Rev.19:13) and written (The Bible.)
One of the things that the children “just love” about homeschooling is that even during off time they are still in school. (Something they explain to their acquaintances that exclaim “Oh my, I wish I was homeschooled!”)
Not long ago while in out of school but in school a question arose: “What is the greatest ability?”
Discussion involved further questions: Does the greatest ability involve intelligence? No. Education? No. Talents and skills? No. Physical prowess and strength, particularly the athletic kind? No. Leadership? No. Plus a few more that I can’t recall.
Faithful dependability is inseparable from godliness!
It was finally decided that the greatest ability is dependability and that other abilities are undergirded by this ability.
I pray that you too benefited from another one our informal homeschool sessions.
(Class is still in session if you wish to enter the room.)

PS. Hmm…  Biblically thinking, what is the second greatest ability, Availability?

AN UNVARYING CONTINUOUS CHOICE

AN UNVARYING CONTINUOUS CHOICE
Tuesday, January 16, 2018

2Timothy 2:1-2 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2Timothy 2:15-16 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
1Peter [ESV] 5:6-11 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

As usual I read Main News and Midlands sections of the Omaha World-Herald with my breakfast. (Today’s coffee with Italian bread toasted with American peanut butter slathered with English orange marmalade.) I took note of the info that USA government presently has 1,000,000 overall individuals on its terrorist watch list. Turning the pages I read other news of risk, threat, and actual criminal activity . . . some of the latter category not so far away.
I’m not worried about possible or present threatening situation, at least not now.
  How did this come about?
·         It began with my calm discerning Dad. Mom worried. Thus I saw the comparison and choose to hear and observe Dad as opposed to Mom. While Mom worried about a lack of the next bag of groceries, Dad identified possibility or potential of problems, but then discerned what could be done to prevent or resolve, and asap implemented. Dad often emphasized “Concern is healthy. Worry is not for it distracts from clear thinking toward options and solutions. Sometimes his solution was to do nothing. Surprisingly, predicted problem didn’t result, or was resolved naturally, or simply negated. Dad also emphasized the value of being confronted by problems.
·         Yes, Mom worried for the whole family, neighborhood, nation, and world. Observing what she put herself through and at times others that loved her I decided I didn’t want to adopt her manner.
·         Then at age 14 while grinding corn at Eden Mill dear Ann walked across the gravel truck lot into my heart and soon thereafter into my life for 60+ wonderful years. Ann was not a worrier. She looked at problems as life challenges, adventures, and learning experiences.
The outcome of the above described observations and resultant personal decision against living in anxiety left me being sometime calm, sometime worrying; the angst phases affecting me physically to the point of hospitalization.
The next step forward involved therein a momentary one-time encounter with a man named Desmond McNellis. Observing my Bible and companion books that I studied, taught, and preached from, he smiled and said “You know what to do.” The brief passing meet was transitory, leaving me with a new starting point of Yes, I do know.
Ann already held God’s peace in her heart and practiced 1Peter 5:7. I began to and continued this journey all the way to this morning breakfast table, now at keyboard sharing my life with you, and this-side-of-heaven still facing daily the choice of to worry or live life trusting the Word, or not?

To aid in Romans 12:1-3 transition I was encouraged by an elder to print out, have on my person, read and ponder list of applicable verses. I encourage you to practice the same way as needed.  [ESV]:

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous
to be moved.
Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 13:11-13 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.
Matthew 6:21-34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.  "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 7:11-12 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have
tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
Rom 5:3-6 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
1Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Philippians 2:3-9 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: ONE OF TWO AFTERLIFES

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: ONE OF TWO AFTERLIFES
Monday, January 15, 2018

Gotquestions.org: "Is there an afterlife?"

The book of Job asks a question about the afterlife very simply: “If a man dies, will he live again?” (Job 14:14). Asking the question is easy; more difficult is finding someone to answer the question with authority and experience.
Jesus Christ is the one person who can speak with real authority (and experience) concerning the afterlife. What gives Him sole authority to speak of heaven is that He came from there: “No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man” (John 3:13). The Lord Jesus, with His firsthand experience in heaven, presents us with three basic truths about the subject of life after death:

1. There is an afterlife.
2. When a person dies, there are two possible destinations to which he or she may go.
3. There is one way to ensure a positive experience after death.

First, Christ affirms there is an afterlife a number of times. For example, in an encounter with the Sadducees, who denied the doctrine of the resurrection, Jesus said, “About the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!” (Mark 12:26–27). According to Jesus, those who had died centuries before were very much alive with God at that moment.
In another passage, Jesus comforts His disciples (and us) by telling them of the afterlife. They can look forward to being with Him in heaven: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:1–3).
Jesus also speaks authoritatively about the two different destinies that await in the afterlife. In the account of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus says, “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side” (Luke 16:22–23). Note, there is no intermediate state for those who die; they go directly to their eternal destiny. Jesus taught more on the different destinies of the righteous and the wicked in Matthew 25:46 and John 5:25–29.
Jesus also emphasized that what determines a person’s eternal destination is whether or not he has faith in God’s only begotten Son. The need for faith is clear: “Everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:1–18).
For those who repent of their sin and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior, the afterlife will consist of an eternity spent enjoying God. For those who reject Christ, however, the afterlife will be quite different. Jesus describes their destiny as “darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 8:12). As the heaven-sent authority on the afterlife, Jesus warns us to choose wisely: “Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13–14).
Speaking about life after death, G. B. Hardy, a Canadian scientist, once said, “I have only two questions to ask. One, has anyone ever defeated death? Two, did he make a way for me to do it also?” The answer to both of Hardy’s questions is “yes.” One Person has both defeated death and provided a way for everyone who puts their trust in Him to overcome it as well. No one who trusts in Jesus Christ needs to fear death, and we can rejoice in the Lord’s salvation: “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’
‘Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?’” (1 Corinthians 15:54–55).

ONLY A PENNY

ONLY A PENNY
Sunday, January 14, 2018

Thankfully, in my tumultuous novice days as a follower of Christ I was blessed with a number of wise mature mentors.
Bill and Al Heger worked for the same company I did for 43 years. Bill, Al’s older brother, a locksmith. Al, a Master Machinist serving in maintenance. I was in contact with both brothers most days. Both men mentor me to this day. Bill, in abstention since cancer took him from us. Al, continuing doing so this side of death, he reminding and encouraging often via email from Kansas.
This morning while ingesting daily pharmaceutical regimen, including insulin, along with a bowl of Cheerios and wheat squares topped with banana and blueberries doused with 1% milk - reflecting on the exotic bounty in a bowl before me I remembered one of Bill’s valuable lessons.
A young boy quizzed Bill asking “Exacting what things should we be thankful for?” Bill told him “Even a penny piece of candy.” In thankful celebration I dipped my tablespoon again.
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.” (1Thes.5:18-19; “give thanks” is 35 times in KJV)

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: EVERLASTING SUFFERING?

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: EVERLASTING SUFFERING?
Friday, January 12, 2018

The Lord declares "The new heaven and earth that I am about to make will continue in my presence," declares the LORD. "So your descendants and your name will also continue in my presence. From one month to the next and from one week to the next all people will come to worship me," declares the LORD. Then they will go out and look at the corpses of those who have rebelled against me. The worms that eat them will not die. The fire that burns them will not go out. All humanity will be disgusted by them. “ [GW Isa.66:22-24; Mt.5:22 presenting a apt description of a unbeliever. Also note Jn.3:18 in context.]
Revelation 19:20; 20:10-12, 14-15  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. … And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. … And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Is eternal hell real? Or is it a religion scare tactic to inspire morality, or a method to manipulate people?
Hell, the place of eternal suffering separated from God is real. The same Word from whence we joyfully read of heaven. For your convenience in edification I share my review of the references in KJV:
Deut.32:22  For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
2Sam.22:6  The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

Ps.116:3  The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Pr.15:11  Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Pr.15:24  The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Pr.23:14  Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Pr.27:20  Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Isa.5:14  Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Isa.14:9  Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
Isa.14:15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isa.28:15  Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa.28:18  And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
Isa.57:9  And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.
Ez.31:16  I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
Ez.31:17  They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
Ez.32:21  The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
Ez.32:27  And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
Amo.9:2  Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
Jon_2:2  And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Hab.2:5  Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
Mt.5:22, 29-30  But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Mt.10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Mt.11:23  And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Mt.16:18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mt.18:9  And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
Mt.23:15, 33  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mk.9:43, 45-47  And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Lk.10:15  And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
Lk.12:5  But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Lk.16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Act.2:27, 31  Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. … He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Jam.3:6  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
2Pet.2:4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
Rev.1:18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Rev.6:8  And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Rev.20:13-15  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Hell is important to know of. I pray that none that read my morning thoughts will ever be known in.

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: JOB'S QUESTION

BEGINNING WITH DEATH: JOB’S QUESTION
Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Job [CEV] 14:1-2, 14a Life is short and sorrowful for every living soul. We are flowers that fade and shadows that vanish. … Will we humans live again?
1Peter 1:24-25 The Scriptures say, "Humans wither like grass, and their glory fades like wild flowers. Grass dries up, and flowers fall to the ground. But what the Lord has said will stand forever." Our good news to you is what the Lord has said.  [Also note Heb.9:27; Jam.4:14]

Job pointed out that life is brief at best, comparatively no more than a fleeting silhouette full of distress for every person, he posing the question “Will we live again?” (He also made it clear that he had no inclination toward his enlistment being shortened, but desired to patiently involve for his duration. 14:14b)
Having from God’s Word answered the eternal life question many times already, I’m not so much pondering answer to Job’s question recorded in 14:14a. Today I’m considering that all individuals do contemplate this question.
I remember thinking about this gigantic question as a young child, recollecting that it was when Grandmother Bullock died September 23, 1939, my being *3.85 years of age. (It wasn’t until early teen years that I began wondering about the other enormous question.)
Can anyone dare claim they have never reflected on what will happen to them beginning with death?
And what has been done with the question? Has ego-centric pleasurable living and/or life’s troubles preempted present day consideration? (Mt.13:18-23) Has the topic been shelved, filed, or stuffed as too difficult and troubling to consider? (Acts 26:27-28)
Man individual and together can do what he will to silence the question, but even with utmost effort it remains: Will I live again?
Hear what God says: "When the time came for me to show you favor, I heard you; when the day arrived for me to save you, I helped you. Listen! This is the hour to receive God's favor; today is the day to be saved!” (GNB 2Cor.6:2)  EBB4

THEONOMY

GotQuestions.org: "What is dominion theology / theonomy / Christian reconstructionism?"

Answer:
Dominion theology refers to a line of theological interpretation and thought with regard to the role of the church in contemporary society. Dominion theology is also known as Christian reconstructionism and theonomy. Dominion theology states that biblical Christianity will rule all areas of society, personal and corporate. Christian reconstructionism reasons that society will be reconstructed by the Law of God as preached in the gospel and the Great Commission. Theonomy is a post-millennial view believing that all of the moral laws contained in the Old Testament are yet binding today. Although these might sound somewhat disparate, they have all been closely linked together to the point that people often use the terms interchangeably.
Those who hold these views believe that it is the duty of Christians to create a worldwide kingdom patterned after the Mosaic Law. They believe that Christ will not return to earth until such a kingdom has been established. The principal goal, then, of dominion theology and Christian reconstructionism is political and religious domination of the world through the implementation of the moral laws, and subsequent punishments, of the Old Testament (the sacrificial and ceremonial laws having been fulfilled in the New Testament). This is not a government system ruled by the church, but rather a government conformed to the Law of God.
Dominion theology / Christian reconstructionism is largely based upon a post-millennial view of covenantalism. Post-millennialism is the belief that Christ will return to earth after the thousand-year reign of God's kingdom, and covenantalism refers to the belief that biblical history is divided into three major covenants supposedly described in Scripture—of redemption, of works, and of grace. Adherents believe that we currently exist under the covenant of grace, that the church and Israel are the same, and we are now in the millennial Kingdom of God. Man, under the covenant of grace, is responsible to rule the world, to hold dominion over it in obedience to the laws of God.
The problem with these beliefs is that they rest upon a distorted view of Scripture. Scripture clearly teaches a premillennial view of the Kingdom of God (Zechariah 14:4-9; Matthew 25:31-34), the "covenant of grace" is an extra-biblical construct, Israel and the Church are distinct throughout biblical history and prophecy, and God never commanded the Church to revamp society. Instead, believers are commanded to preach the Gospel as in Matthew 28:19, 20, but God clearly intends to implement worldwide reform Himself (Revelation 19:11-20:4). Though it is clearly unbiblical, dominion theology persists. It is, in fact, a great threat to biblical Christianity. Once at home solely within Reformed circles, dominion theology and Christian reconstructionism are now creeping into many Protestant churches and are making a large impact on the beliefs of Charismatic churches in particular.
As with any new teaching we are exposed to, we need to be like the Bereans of Acts 17:11: "And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul's message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to check up on Paul and Silas, to see if they were really teaching the truth." Dominion theology / Christian reconstructionism doesn't align with what we read in the Scriptures. Although this is just a "nutshell" summary of dominion theology, the points made are very clear. Dominion theology is not a theology for a believer to live by, but rather one to avoid.
