DO YOU PUT GOD ON HOLD?

Psalm 78:36-39 Nevertheless
they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their
tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in
his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and
destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir
up all his wrath. For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that
passeth away, and cometh not again.
2Peter 3:8-9 But,
beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a
thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack
concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to
us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance.
In the last
several years we have had a lot of advancements in technology. There was a time
when we could call a customer service department and get a real person. Then
came recorded messages telling us everyone was busy “please wait”. Now the
recorded messages have a long list of options from which to choose. Sometimes
none of the options fit your need and you may get cut off. Sometimes you get
thru to someone and more times than not they put you on hold. I get so
frustrated!
I often wonder if
God gets frustrated with us when we do this to Him. We are too busy to listen.
We give Him our opinions and sometimes we just put Him on hold. Isn’t it wonderful
to know God is far more long-suffering than we are?
