THE PAUCITY OF
SERIOUS THOUGHT

Proverbs GNB 24:27 Don't build your house and
establish a home until your fields are ready, and you are sure that you can
earn a living.
Luke KJV 14:28 For which of you, intending to
build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it?
Paucity: a fancy smancy word for scarcity,
rareness, lack of, dearth, scarceness.
Paucity of serious thought is something that
old timers see, and though they may not constantly speak of it, do grieve it.
There is far too much paucity of serious
thought today, with obvious evidence.
·
Dating
without serious thought of possible enmeshment with undesirable spouse or LTA.
·
Trying
marriage without serious thought or preparation for spousal responsibility.
·
Buying
property, vehicles, furniture and appliances without serious thought as to
preparation or ability to pay for or maintain.
·
Trying
marriage again without serious thought or preparation for spousal
responsibility.
·
Retiring
to a lesser or fixed income while still living with large mortgage(s) and loan
debts.
There are several more items that could be
added to the above list, but there is issues that far exceed such listing,
questions that require much more serious thought; questions distracted from by
the prior list for many.
Where will I spend eternity? (Jn.3:3;
Heb.9:27)
For the professed believer: Have I seriously
considered and prepared for daily and lifetime discipleship, especially that
which may involve a sudden call to exceptional duty or death? (Lk.14:27;
Heb.9:27)
What will await me beyond this life?
(Mt.6:19-21)
Before demon
paucity!
