“This is the
written account of Adam and his descendants. When God created humans, he made
them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female. He blessed them
and called them humans when he created them. When Adam was 130 years old, he
became the father of a son in his own likeness, in his own image. He named him
Seth. After Adam became the father of Seth, he lived 800 years and had other
sons and daughters. Adam lived a total of 930 years; then he died. When Seth
was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh. After he became the father of
Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. Seth lived a
total of 912 years; then he died. When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the
father of Kenan. After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and
had other sons and daughters. Enosh lived a total of 905 years; then he died.

Subscribing to 15
magazines a month produces more advertisements and catalogues in mailbox than
normal. Magazines I read. Ads and catalogues I typically do not. But something
did catch my eye this week.
There is a wrist
watch that runs backwards for up to 100 years; ticking off every second,
tocking away every minute, gone-ing the hours and days.
To set it you use
one of those personal actuarial table tests that indicate how much time you
have left this side of date, hour, moment, second of demise.
I’m not buying
one due to fact I’ve outlived my old actuarial table test result by a number of
years already. Hence it’s a probable waste of money as I could die before actuarial
test and doomsday watch arrived in my mailbox.
Come to think of
it, Lord knows I could die immediately after sending out this morning’s DT, or
even before, or ….
