LIFE GONE BONKERS TODAY?

James [ESV] “… let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and
complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who
gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him
ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the
sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose
that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man,
unstable in all his ways. … be doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he
is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks
at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who
looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer
who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. If anyone thinks
he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this
person's religion is worthless. … no human being can tame the tongue. It is a
restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and
with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same
mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does
a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig
tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt
pond yield fresh water. Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good
conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. … wisdom from above
is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good
fruits, impartial and sincere. … be patient. Establish your hearts, for the
coming of the Lord is at hand.” [Please read all in context

After 28 years of
faithfully serving as a staff doctor at Boston Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center, in December of 2014 Urologist Paul Church lost his last appeal to
continue practice there.
Why was he
expelled? He vocally opposes the hospital endorsing LGBT activities.
Why does Dr.
Church stand publically against the hospital endorsing LGBT? He sensibly states that it is preposterous to
do so: The hospital should not publically support LGBT parades et al because of
the hospital staff’s diversity of moral and religious beliefs and because it is
supporting behaviors leading to higher risk of serious diseases like HIV/AIDS
and anal cancer.
In interview with
WORLD magazine Church explained how contradictory the policy is, saying “It’s
like a baby food company sponsoring an abortion company.” Or like medical
journal running ads for cigarettes. “It makes no sense!”
Interestingly,
Dr. Church’s status is an upper management issue, not a patient concern. No
patient has ever lodged a complaint against this doctor.
Has life gone
bonkers today? Not really, it all started with Eve, then Adam, gaining the
knowledge of good and evil and ever since we continue in kind. (Gen.2:9, 17;
3:5)
What is my point
of personal consideration, homosexual issues debate? No. It is that I, you,
everyone, is a commonly contradictory spring of sensibility versus non-sensibility
that the Apostle James wrote of . . . and that we, with God’s direction, need
to continually be aware of this our problem and daily view ourselves in the
mirror of God’s Word. Then contemplate our expression with goal of godliness of
mind and activity.
Amen?
