BATTLE LINES

John 14:6, 27 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth,
and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. … Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your
heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
This world cannot
provide authentic peace for it is impossibility because of two facts: 1.) Our
sinful nature cannot provide peace. 2.) Apollyon (Rev.9:11) will not permit
peace as it is counter to his goal. 3.) Peace without God is not genuine peace.
Our natural man
looks within for answers to the stream of life’s many conflicts;
self-actualization resulting in personal peace a hopeless treadmill effort with
goal seemingly realized in moments, but limited to, never fully fixed for
lifetime. Even Kurt Goldstein, the originating organismic theorist in using “drive” concedes this on the motive to
realize one's full potential; "the tendency to actualize itself as fully
as possible is the basic drive... the drive of self-actualization."
If mankind realized true peace, Apollyon
would have no field to play his game(s) in which all supporting troops are
expendable without redemption. True peace would suppress him drastically.
Man, in the way he strives for peace
unwittingly doesn’t fight Apollyon. In seeking peace in all the ways lacking
and thereby rejecting the One Way, man aids and abets the Destroyer of peace.
We must be clear on which side of the battle
line peace is on else we inadvertently ignorantly fight on the wrong side.
