WORSHIPPING CHRIST AS CREATOR

Colossians [GW] chapter 1 To God's holy and faithful people, … God has rescued
us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son,
whom he loves. His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are
forgiven. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. He
created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. Whether they
are kings or lords, rulers or powers- everything has been created through him
and for him. He existed before everything and holds everything together. …
[Gen.1:1]
A man and his
horse stand upon the high country in Wyoming and gaze at the vast beauty before
them, resulting in “Miss Penny and I are sending out my first Christmas card.”

continued “You may say, but Tom it’s a little late, and this is true, however,
after the lights, ribbons and bows and all the hustle and bustle, let us
reflect.
I look out at these
valleys and mountains and see the greatness of our creator.
Look up in the
sky out here and see our galaxy the Milky Way, our galaxy is an average-sized
spiral galaxy that looks to other galaxies like a swirl in a pastry roll that
is over 100,000 light years across – about six hundred trillion miles, we know
that our galaxy is only one of some hundred thousand million that can be seen
using modern telescopes, each galaxy itself containing some hundred million
stars, the average distance between these hundred thousand galaxies (each six
hundred trillion miles across and containing one hundred thousand million
stars) is three million light years, all of this our creator spoke into
existence.
This awesome
creator loved us so much that he came down to live and die that we may know
him. If you find yourself in a valley, press into this big God and he will set
you up high in the mountains. It is there that [we] find peace and good will
toward men.
May you truly
find the joy and peace of God in this new year.”
