BE THOU FAITHFUL

Luke 13:24-30 Strive
to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter
in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and
hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door,
saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know
you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in
thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell
you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There
shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac,
and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves
thrust out. And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the
north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. And,
behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be
last.
Revelation
2:10 Fear none of those things which
thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that
ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto
death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Old Faithful
Geyser has erupted year after year on a rather erratic “schedule” varying from
22 minutes to 2 hours between eruptions. Yet it has been watched, advertised
and extolled by millions of people.
Not far from Old
Faithful is another geyser, much smaller, not advertised and seen by fewer
people. Those who do see it rarely remember its name, but year after year it
erupts on schedule that can be predicted almost to the minute.
We cannot all be
“Old Faithful Geysers” or famous preachers, but Christ does expect us to be
like the little geyser, doing our [Romans 12:3} job, where we are: faithfully
and regularly.
