GOD DEFINITELY ANSWERS PRAYER

1Thessalonians
[NLT] 5:16-21 Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all
circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do
not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything
that is said. Hold on to what is good.
2Timothy 2:15 Study
to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
God definitely
answers prayer. But are we listening?
“No.” is an
answer, though we do prefer “Yes.” to our requests, especially if specifically
spelled out plans are ours. The “God on my side.” syndrome as opposed to “Am I
on God’s side?” position.
Then there is “Wait.”
and/or “When the time is right.” And/or “My time is not the same as your time.”
That, if immature, tests our patience.
Then there are
the responses we’re exceptionally deaf to, “You’re not ready yet.” Or the
variation “You are ready . . . they are not . . . all is not in place . . . or
may never be.” Then there’s “I’ve already provided My Word that contains the
answer. Have you taken time to search?”
Here’s our
challenge for today: There are Biblical life examples of all of the above
responses to prayer. How many of them can you think of and match up? (Example:
Galatians 4:4) How many are we willing
to personally accept?
