RESPONDING WITH CONCEPT OR PRECEPT?

Colossians [ESV] 4:5-6 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
2Timothy 4:1-4 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
As professing Christians we are responsible to answer questions at any time comfortable or not. Considering my earliest John 3:3 born-again days and observing believers since, this is sometimes done too often with ideas instead truth grounded in God’s Word. Of course, this takes 2Timothy 2:15 diligence to first gain the answers for one’s self. Ah, but when are we asked many of the questions? Before we know the answers, that’s when!
