Luke 10:25-29 And,
behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall
I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the
law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and
with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou
hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to
justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? [And then Jesus
presented the parable of the good Samaritan, which not only explained but also
used “Samaritan”, a people that the audience of Jews looked down upon.]
Galatians 5:22-25 …
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they
that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If
we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
This morning I am
wondering how all of you are getting along with the changes and accompanying
challenges. Changes that involve body, soul, and spirit . . . and for the
followers of Christ, the manifestations of the applied fruit of the Spirit.
Please do share
your challenges and blessed opportunities in fulfilling the comprehensive first
two commandments. I’ll wait a few days, then will share the results with all of
you knowing that we will all be edified and blessed thereby.
