PEE-BACK

Public peeing is
a problem in many major cities in the world. I remember walking some streets on
a lovely sunshiny day and having sense stimulated by stench. Officials in some
towns added No Public Urination signs to the Drug Free Zone and No Weapons
ones, and they were just as effective.
Tadah, capitalists
smelled the flow of public money, and they innovated to profit.
I’m sure none of
the above facts about scofflaws or entrepreneurs is new news to you, but what may
be is new state of the art paint, actually a super-hydrophobic nano-coating
that is remarkably fluid repellent. So much so that not honoring the adjacent
sign results in a shoe-wetting trouser-soaking event.
What has this to
do with Christian discipleship, the embarrassment of damp smelly footwear and
pants?
For me when
reading the above news bit in WORLD magazine, it was being reminded of the
splashback warnings in Scripture:
·
"Be
certain of this, that your sin will catch up to you!” (ISV Num.32:23b)
·
Jesus’ warning
to His listeners: “There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. There is
nothing kept secret that will not come to light.” (GW Lk.8:17)
·
Paul’s words to young Timothy: “The sins of some
people are obvious, going ahead of them to judgment. The sins of others follow
them there. In the same way, the good things that people do are obvious, and
those that aren't obvious can't remain hidden.” (GW 1Tim.5:24-25)
