“makers” are
individuals and groups of various age that create useful things. Things that
sometimes change lives, a culture, a nation, the world. Garage and basement
tinkerers fit the category. And there are big time Edison types. In case you
haven’t noticed it is now a surging movement gone beyond garage and backyard to
large spaces with spot and shared shop equipment; metal and/or woodworking,
electronic, plastic, science, plasma, et al. A new High School in Philadelphia
includes a makerspace for 10 creative girls. Omaha has several and another on
the horizon.
Several articles
I’ve read this year on the topic present the premise that the USA is great
because of makers then and now.
Yes, true, but
didn’t it begin and with and continue in space by the Maker?
“… thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be
partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has
translated us into the kingdom of His
dear Son; in whom we have redemption through His blood, the remission of sins. who
is the image of the invisible God, the First-born of all creation. For all things
were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth,
the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities
or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before
all things, and by Him all things consist.” MKJV Colossians chapter 1
