UNDERSTANDING IS AVAILABLE

1Corinthians [ESV] 2:12-14 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who
is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we
impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit,
interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person
does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and
he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
God is not the author of confusion [Strongs: G181 ἀκαταστασία; akatastasia; ak-at-as-tah-see'-ah; From G182; instability,
that is, disorder: - commotion, confusion, tumult.], but of peace
[Strongs: G1515 εἰρήνη; eirēnē; i-rah'-nay; Probably from a primary verb εἴρω eirō (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by
implication prosperity: - one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one
again. ], as in all churches of the saints. (1Cor.14:33)
God wants us to understand. This we can
accomplish as we trust Him and displace childish excuse and angst with the
exercise of mature spiritual thinking. (Mt.15:16; Rom.1:21; 1Cor.2:12-16; 13:11;
14:20, 33)
It is because of my
understanding thus far and the peace I enjoy therein that I desire that others
be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual
understanding. (Col.1:9)
Indeed at times we may be confused in reading
a passage of Scripture. It happens. The disorder will only influence or rule
our life if we dwell in childishness. We are not to do so. We are to in
maturity gain understanding with peace largely by effort in the investigating
of the whole counsel of God, the Word: the Holy Bible. It is essential that we
not stumble over a fragment of the Bible that we do not readily comprehend, but
must take hold of all that the Word says on a matter. (Act.17:11; 2Tim.2:15)
Even with a casual reading of Genesis thru
Revelation we see that God does not want us to remain ignorant. Is it not a
major purpose of the gift of His Word for us, 66 books filled with intelligence
unto understanding with peace?
I repeat, understanding
is available and with it comes His provision of peace. It is not God who is the
creator of confusion.
