HARVEST TIME
Matthew 9:35-38 And Jesus went about all the cities
and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with
compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep
having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is
plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the
harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. And Jesus
went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and

disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved
with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as
sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest
truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord
of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
2Corinthians 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of
salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is
the day of salvation.)
When our fields
began to turn “white” Hugh would go out several times a day band check the
heads of grain. When he determined they were ripe he would roll out the
machinery and work long hours to harvest the grain before storms could ruin the
crop.
We Christians don’t
need to check the “fields”. Christ told us they’re ready!
We neither have
or need big machines to do the blessed work. Each soul must be won personally.
This means we must be knowledgeable of and willing to step out and present the
gospel; that Jesus Christ died for them.
And doing so is a “now” thing.
