GENESIS
Genesis is the book of beginnings Though old It
speaks of new.
Genesis is a book about the revelation of God culminating
in Christ. The 3 primary names of His deity; Elohim, Jehovah, Adonai are
introduced in the book. In Genesis we
learn of God’s workings of love and grace, Adam’s original sin bringing
suffering to all.
Genesis enters into the very structure of the New
Testament. Jesus quoted or referred to it many times. Genesis is quoted about
60 times in 17 books.
Genesis is foundational history, covering 2,315 years,
and doctrine. The book includes 4 fundamental covenants. Mosaic, Palestinian,
Davidic, and New Covenants.
Genesis should not be discounted as some professing
Christians do.
