SACRIFICE OF PRAYER
Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the
sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving
thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with
such sacrifices God is well pleased.
“Sacrifice” is not just giving up something we
want. It also means to do something to honor, or to give something to honor,
show loyalty or devotion, to avow allegiance, and show reverence and respect.
Using those
definitions, then prayer becomes a “sacrifice”.
We should never
be guilty of just asking, asking, asking. We should constantly offer thanks and
praise giving God the glory!
