THE MEASURE OF GRACE; The Sufficiency of Godliness
Monday, May 15, 2017
This morning
Omaha World-Herald includes an interview with super model Ashley Graham. She
shares largely on her self-image struggles. Commenting on plus-size, “… it’s a
divisive word. Why would we describe women by the number inside their pants?”
Her dislike of
the broad use of “plus-size” stimulated memories of being under size: On my 13th
birthday I was within a fraction of 6’ weighing slightly over 100 pounds and
super conscious of it. My personal feelings on ego-centric subjective labeling
went far beyond term “dislike”.
But the thrill of
joining individuals accepting God’s grace, living resurrected above labeling, far
exceeds the bondage of over or under-size or any other scornful categorization .
Even the great
Apostle Paul had to accept the fullness of God’s grace and benefit from thereafter.
His submissiveness profiting you and I this very morning.
