ESCAPE REQUIRES TRUSTING ACTION

Proverbs 3:1-6 My
son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments; for they shall
add length of days, and long life, and peace to you. Let not mercy and truth
forsake you; tie them around your neck; write them upon the tablet of your
heart; and you shall find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and
man. Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Revelation 3:20 Behold,
I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I
will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.
God’s immutability
is a thread throughout time and eternity, for our edification accounted in Genesis
thru Revelation. The truth of 1Corinthians 10:12-14 is not unique to “New Testament
Christianity”. Consider the temptation of Eve, then Adam, Exodus 14:9-6,
Numbers 11:4-5, and numerous other Old Testament accounts. God provided a way
of escape that always requires trusting Him; to portal the exit, stand doubting
before it, or be blind to it. This day again we will commonly be tempted . . .
and have God’s exit before us. And as ever, it is up to us to step on “dry land”
or take the latch in hand.
