Psalm [GW] 40:1-3
For the choir director; a psalm by David. I waited patiently for the LORD. He
turned to me and heard my cry for help. He pulled me out of a horrible pit, out
of the mud and clay. He set my feet on a rock and made my steps secure. He
placed a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see this
and worship. They will trust the LORD.
1John 5:20 We know that the Son of God has come and has
given us understanding so that we know the real God. We are in the one who is
real, his Son Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is the real God and eternal life.
If and as we
follow Christ we will mature. The rate and areas of growth is different for
each of His John 1:12 children. And there will be indicators, in my observation
and experience typically when and where least expected. For me, blessed
assurance again yesterday in a schoolyard and at a Tractor Supply Store desk.
There were two
circles. 5th graders with volcanoes the inner, parents,
grandparents, and otherwise supporters surrounding. All age groups were
excited, me included. My excitement included silently recognizing God’s
deliverance. At age 10 my excitement was
accompanying older boys in breaking into freight boxcars and helping transport
the loot.
The 20 year old
clerk politely showed me where I misunderstood the invoice, one of those
once-shown obvious things. Whereas I would have been passively embarrassed and
perturbed, I was not.
By His grace,
EBB4
