MILE MARKERS
Luke 21:5-7 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
As I drive down the highway I keep track of
how far I’ve come by the little signs known as mile-markers. I can also figure
how far I have to go if I know what the mile-marker is at the other end. Otherwise
I must watch for signs that warn me of nearing my destination.
Years ago w were in California planning on
visiting an uncle whose instructions were “Turn off 3 miles before you
reach _________________.” We finally did find him but we
certainly had to be alert for signs and ready to alter course!
The same holds true for those watching for Christ’s second coming. We must stay alert and be ready. The signs are there.

A study tip: When
ready Jesus conversations it’s important to note the way others there address
Him, for it reflects their attitude and belief. In the above it is “Master”.
(68 times in the Gospels.) “teacher” by Nicodemus is especially significant
then.
