STUDIOUSNESS
Church attendance, Bible reading, devotionals,
memorization, charity including social service is good. We are however to base all
our doings in and by God’s Word. (Ps.119:11; 2Tim.2:15) Bible study makes for
correctly understanding all matters pertaining to the present within eternity
plus enabling His desire for us to optimize our service pleasing to Him.
(Rom.12:1-3)
There are numerous study methods. Several of
which I’ve shared in these Daily Thoughts through the decades. (Yes, I’m so old
now I can speak of decades. 😊 )
Biblical outlines are helpful in gaining an
overview of a book or epistle. An example: Using my old Scofield Study Bible, I
share his edifying outline of the Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the
Philippians.

2:1-30 [Christlikeness]s
a. Exhortation to unity and meekness. 1-4
b. The sevenfold humbling of Christ. 5-8
c. The exaltation of Jesus. 9-11
d. The outworking of the in-worked salvation. 12-16

expectation. 3:1-21

works, keeping commandments] 4-6

righteousness. 7-9

power. 10-14

I pray that you will discover that using this
