CONFLATING FLATIONS
Inflation is a common life-experience; one
obvious loss for young and old being the disappearance of penny candy. Then there’s
the other serious effects each of you readers can tell of.
Though you may not heard of skimpflation, you
have and presently are again experiencing it: Paying the same price, but
getting less product and/or service. I first recognized this as a lad spending
a hard-earned nickel for a reduced size Hershey bar. We boys and girls were
outraged and frustrated. And presently for all you Disney parks lovers, how do
you like hiking from the parking lots.? And for you fast-food lovers, have you
had to ask for condiments yet?
And how about shrinkflation? Like the Hershey
bar business, less for more, even while advertising “MORE FOR LESS”. Additionally,
have you noticed shelf stocks lately? This blamed entirely on supply line
problems, though it is not.
In my nearly 86 years I’ve never seen the scenario
so circular and conflated with our D.C. government fueling the flames with more
tinder.
But all of the above is not to be our overwhelming
discombobulating center adding to the mental and emotional murk, for Jesus Christ
the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Heb.13:8)
