Genesis [GW] 2:16-17 The LORD God commanded the man. He said, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden. But you must never eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because when you eat from it, you will certainly die."

  You will never hear me denying that western civilization has changed for the worse. Even some of my young grandchildren bemoan the sad changes they’ve noticed in their lifetime. People whining, complaining, seeing themselves as a victim, intolerance, tolerance, undependability, family breakdown, drugs, profanity, wholesale murder, world record prison population, depression, neurosis, having unrealistic expectations, lack of personal peace et al. A general deterioration as the result of loss of Biblical thinking that had permeated our culture.

  Ken Ham, Founder/CEO of Answers in Genesis (AIG), addressed the title question in the January/February issue of the AIG magazine. I share 4 observed reasons he presents:

a.       So much of the church (and its leadership) has compromised God’s Word in Genesis, thus undermining the authority of the Word of God and undermining a Christian worldview. [How we see life and death.]

b.      Most church leaders and academics have not taught generations how to truly develop a Christian worldview beginning with the foundation of Genesis and the rest of God’s Word.

c.       The teaching of apologetics to combat secular attacks of our day has been largely neglected in our churches.

d.      90-95% of kids from churches have been indoctrinated by the secular education system to doubt and not believe the Word of God beginning in Genesis – but to believe the pagan religion of evolution as a fact.

  Ken goes on to point out that this all began 6,000 years ago in the garden in Eden, the battle between two religions.
