1Corinthians [GW]
12:27 You are Christ's body and each of you is an individual part of it.
The Lone Ranger and Tonto were traveling thru open
range. As dusk fell they set up camp and quickly fell sound asleep. Some hours
later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says,
"Kemo Sabe, look towards sky; what you see?" The Lone Ranger replies, "I see millions of
stars."
"What that tell you?" asked Tonto.
The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute, then saying, “Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you, Tonto?"
"You dumber than pile of rocks, someone stole tent."

Funny story, for sure, but some of us do think this way; when asked a simple
question, we answer analytical encyclopedic. This may be quite amusing when
married to a linear thinker, that usually retorts, “What in the world are you
talking about?!” (And who would these couples be? L J )
And then there are rare thinking styles, a special one being held by
Jill Price, 28 years of age, endowed with hyperthymestic syndrome; the
abilility to remember every detail of every moment and incidence of your life;
it being impossible to forget anything. (Interestingly, she does, however, find
it nearly impossible to by rote memorize lists.) Jill can entertain herself by
deliberately replaying good memories, but also is troubled by sad or crisis
memories brought on by scent, song, sound, visual triggers; such as the vivid
memories of her husband’s death. (Free Press: The Woman Who Can’t Forget)
I’m sure many of you having thinking styles that are both wonderful and
irritating, but once again I’m reminded of Psalm 139:13-14, “For thou [God]
hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will
praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well.”
In 1Corinthians, chapters 12 thru 14, Paul wrote of proper function that
is God’s will and provided for, referring to and emphasizing the importance of harmonious
productive synergy through corporate spiritual, mental, emotional and in actual
physical manner. (Please note that in the beginning of his epistle he
challenges them about their divisiveness, and then segues to solution. Chapters
1 thru 3)
Let us beware considering another a fool because his or her thinking style
is different than ours, contrary to that which we consider “Normal”.
I close today’s thoughts with a personal story: Always having
memorization problem, but blessed with problem solving abilities, I teamed for
a number of work years with a “memory man” that could hardly solve his way out
of a paper bag, but once shown, never forgot. We served well together once we
accepted, yea embraced, our difference. EBB4
