Genesis [MKJV] 1:1-4, 26-27 In the beginning God created
the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and empty. And darkness
was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the
waters. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the
light that it was good. And God divided between the light and the darkness. …
And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and
over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on
the earth. And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created
him.
It doesn’t take
but a bit of study and cross-referencing to discover that “God” in Genesis 1:1
and connected events is not describing singular personage, but plurality of
Supreme Being.
Consider 1:26, in
the phrase “Let Us make man”. (MKJV correctly capitalizes “us”.) “Us” not
depicting our Creator as soloist, but plural in tri-unity.
Another notable
point is that “Elohim” is the first name in Scripture for God. In the creation
account; Elohim being Hebrew describing magistrates active in ministration;
here in creation. (This is not to say that elsewhere in Scripture when other
names are used for God that He is not Elohim,)
Elohim, Creator:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in absolute harmony and fellowship, doing so
for eternity making opportunity for discordant us, prey to and principally
insistent on measuring life in time instead of perpetuity.
Knowing this
truth can and should make a difference in our life. Will we let it?
