THE WORD ON RACISM
Thursday, June 4, 2020
I don’t here need
to reiterate reports on current racial strife in the USA. But what of the position we followers of the
Word should be manifesting, or if not, taking? As always, the position of
godliness; godliness being Christfulness, living by and in the John 1:1 Word as
His 2Corinthians 5:14-19 ambassadors of reconciliation between God and man. This
work being most viable when we as individual Christians live actively in reconciliation
with God; and join with others in doing so.
I’ve been asked
what God’s Word says that applies to our present chaos. I’m giving several
passages as examples trusting that readers will gain insight on application.
God’s reaction to racism. Numbers 12:1-16.
The Samaritans were
discriminated again, thought of as the “you people” of that era. Jesus made it
a representative point otherwise. Luke 10:29-37; 17:11-19; John 4:3-9; 8:48-51.
With God there are
no divisions. Romans 10:12; Galatians 3:20; Colossians 3:11.
Let ours be
godliness with contentment with great gain to all that observe us. 1Timothy
6:6.
Never, ever,
should we present ourselves as godly while in practice denying the power thereof.
2Timothy 3:5.
