PRODUCING FRUIT
An old folk tale
tells of a city dweller visiting an orchardist, remarking to the farmer how
beautiful the Spring blossoms are. The man quickly responded that he couldn’t
sell the blossoms, only the sale of fruit supporting his family.
As recorded by
Matthew (7:17, 20) Jesus gave a fact-of-life illustration, “Every good true
bears good fruit. But a bad tree bears bad fruit. … You can tell each tree by
its fruit.”
Two obvious easy
to understand examples without otherwise comprehension.
In writing to the
saints at Galatia, the apostle Paul explained further that “the fruit [Not
Fruits, but fruit!] of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, and peace, being patient,
kind, and good, being faithful and gentle and having control, of oneself.” (5:22-23)
Which leaves us
with the question of how we are doing we are doing in the marketplace?
