MENTAL HEALTH IS A TRUST ISSUE
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that
walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of
the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be
like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in
his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall
prosper.
Proverbs [MKJV]
4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of
life.
Romans
12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing
and perfect will of God.
James 1:5-8 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him. But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing. For he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For do not let that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, not dependable in all his ways.
I’m sure that
after reading today’s title that some of you think I’ve lost my mind. WHAT, a
trust issue?!
Mental health is an
issue that historically recycles newsworthy as a cause; a problematic human condition
at some level for one and all. The expert explanation and measure of it varying
through the ages, but generally identified by an individual(s) being functional
in society or not. This general criteria of functional has and will continue to
vary; hate being considered normal in some cultures.
Where and when did
the problem start?
With Adam and
Eve. None of us will be sane as they were prior to their not trusting God.
The remedy?
There is no
absolute cure this side of heaven. There is however optimized individual mental
health depending on how much we trust The One that created us in his image. (Gen.1:26)
His freely provided counsel being Truth (Jn.17:17); the Word living (Jn.1:1)
and written (The Bible, 2Tim.3:16; 3Tim.2:14-16; 2Pet.1:20). His Truth, when
relied upon makes us wise unto deliverance (2Tim.3:15); the embraced
application of godly wisdom being synonymous with optimization of the health of
body, soul, and spirit.
Hear and heed the
Word of God: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God
and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power has given to us all
things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has
called us to glory and virtue, through which He has given to us
exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the
world through lust. But also in this very thing, bringing in all
diligence, filling out your faith with virtue, and with virtue,
knowledge; and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control,
patience, and with patience, godliness, and with godliness, brotherly kindness,
and with brotherly kindness, love.” (2Pet.2-7)
