WE ARE SAVED BY JESUS'S DEATH ON THE CROSS

WE ARE SAVED BY JESUS’S DEATH ON THE CROSS

2Timothy [GW] 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as a tried-and-true worker who isn't ashamed to teach the word of truth correctly.

Today’s title statement is and has been commonly declared, but is it comprehensively Biblically true? Examining the Truth (Jn.17:17), what do we find? Is salvation focused in the cross alone?
  Salvation is not.
Indeed the cross provides for forgiveness, but not for eternal life. Eternal life present and future is provided by Jesus’s life, not by His death.
Jesus called His John 1:12 family “children of the resurrection” (Lk.20:36) Importantly He stated that because He lives, we as trusting followers live also. (Jn.14:19)
Paul clearly explained “… the death of his Son restored our relationship with God while we were still his enemies, we are even more certain that, because of this restored relationship, the life of his Son will save us. … Certainly, if the dead don't come back to life, then Christ hasn't come back to life either.
If Christ hasn't come back to life, your faith is worthless and sin still has you in its power. Then those who have died as believers in Christ no longer exist. If Christ is our hope in this life only, we deserve more pity than any other people. (Rom.5:10;1Cor.15:16-19)
Peter explained that “Baptism, which is like that water [referring to Noah], now saves you. Baptism doesn't save by removing dirt from the body. Rather, baptism is a request to God for a clear conscience. It saves you through Jesus Christ, who came back from death to life.” (1Pet.3:21)
Jesus’s resurrection is far more than the display of God’s power. His resurrection facilitates and ensures our spiritual resurrection and our physical resurrection as long as He lives. (Col.3:3-4; Heb.7:25) Remarkably, born-again children of God are partakers of His divine nature! (Though we may not always feel so, it is a fact. (2Pet.1:4; 1Jn.5:4)
Also know that as Andrew Farley declares, “Eternal life is not our life made longer or our life made better. Eternal life is Christs life.”
A final reminder: Trusting Jesus we’re forgiven by His death, we are saved by His resurrection.
Rejoice, yes!! But also determine how the critical reality should change your life.
