GETTING CLOSER TO GOD? Part Three
Monday, April 6, 2020
Romans [BBE] 5:6-11 For
when we were still without strength, at the right time Christ gave his life for
evil-doers. Now it is hard for anyone to give his life even for an upright
man, though it might be that for a good man someone would give his life. But
God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ
gave his life for us. Much more, if we now have righteousness by his
blood, will salvation from the wrath of God come to us through him. For
if, when we were haters of God, the death of his Son made us at peace with him,
much more, now that we are his friends, will we have salvation through his
life; And not only so, but we have joy in God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, through whom we are now at peace with God.
Ephesians 2:14 For
he is our peace, who has made the two into one, and by whom the middle wall of
division has been broken down,
Colossians 3:1-4 If
then you have a new life with Christ, give your attention to the things of
heaven, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Keep your mind on
the higher things, not on the things of earth. For your life on earth is
done, and you have a secret life with Christ in God. At the coming of
Christ who is our life, you will be seen with him in glory.
As much as
individuals, groups, or denominations may want to think and/or teach that
Christian can be further or closer to God does not make it so. For God’s
authorized John 1:12 children there is no “closer”, for His Word makes our
closeness plain and clear. Perfect closeness with God is not a feeling, it is a
definite fact for His sons and daughters!
Our new life is
in Him, He in us! Let us live accordingly in godliness.
1Corinthians 6:17 But
he who is united to the Lord is one spirit.
1Corinthians 15:1,
22 Now I am going to make clear to you, my brothers, what the good news
was which I gave to you, and which you took, and on which your faith is based, …
For as in Adam death comes to all, so in Christ will all come back to
life.
Colossians 1:26-27 The
secret which has been kept from all times and generations, but has now been
made clear to his saints, To whom God was pleased to give knowledge of the
wealth of the glory of this secret among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory:
