TO GO, TO STAY, OR LAY AWAY?

The gatherings of
God’s people, the church, has been seriously deterred by the present pandemic.
For some this is very difficult. For others it is not. For yet others it is now
something they want to do anew. An individual decision, yes, but one that also
may affect families.
Congregating as
God’s people is important, but why?
·
Jesus’ statement recorded in Matthew 12:30.
·
In congregating we avail ourselves to edifying discipleship;
equipping to fulfill the Great Commission. Mt.28:19-20; Mk.16:15
·
Gathering together is part of God’s Way. Heb
10:25
·
It is God’s sanctioned place to stir one another
to love and good works. Heb 10:24
·
Corporate worship is pleasing and edifying.
·
Corporately we commemorate the Lord’s life,
death, burial, and resurrection.
·
It is in congregating that we primarily manifest
our gifts of the Spirit.
The fact is,
introvert (me) or extrovert, congregating with other followers of Chris is
important. For there are no familial lone wolves embodying optimum spiritual
health in the Body of Christ, His church. This I know.

PS. Some experts are predicting there will be great
growth in some congregations while others will diminish or go defunct.
