SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE

SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE
Friday, April 4, 2014

It is commonly held belief in some circles that people go to hell, eternal separation from God, because they sin and/or because of a lack of true spiritual knowledge. This is not at all correct for so long as we breathe we sin. And as far as true spiritual knowledge (All verses MKJV):

·         All individuals already know God because He is obviously evident in creation; “For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.” Romans 1:20

·         All individuals already have His moral law written on their hearts; “… who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and the thoughts between one another accusing or even excusing one another,” Romans 2:15

  Their problem is they proudly:

·         Rebel against God as Sovereign Creator and Redeemer; “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." Romans 1:17

·         Deny His evidence; “because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them. For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.” Romans 1:19-20

·         Are intentionally ignorant; “… this is hidden from them by their willing it, …” 2Peter 3:5

·         Refuse to trust Him; “…the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And when you had seen it, you did not repent afterwards so that you might believe him.” Matthew 21:32

·         Love their own ways; “… whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.” John 3:15-21

·         Suppress the Truth; “… the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,” Romans 1:18

With all of the truth above in mind, I close with the words of Peter, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in Heaven for you by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time; in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations; so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing in Him you exult with unspeakable joy, and having been glorified, obtaining the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1Peter 1:3-9  EBB4
