2Timothy [GW] 2:4-8  Whoever serves in the military doesn't get mixed up in non-military activities. This pleases his commanding officer. Whoever enters an athletic competition wins the prize only when playing by the rules. A hard-working farmer should have the first share of the crops. Understand what I'm saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things. Always think about Jesus Christ. He was brought back to life and is a descendant of David. This is the Good News that I tell others.

  Have you ever read THE POST-PETROLEUM SURVIVAL GUIDE AND COOKBOOK? No? Maybe you heard of it or other books on the topic for it and other such books sold quite well in the 1880s, 1920s, and 1990s. Then there was my public school days being taught in elementary school and thereafter that we not only would run out of oil but there wouldn’t be enough food produced to feed our growing population. It didn’t happen.

  My point being that as the Lord’s servants we are not to be distracted from our mission. We are to occupy in His glad service until His return or death takes us. (Lk.19:13 )
