THE WRATH OF GOD?

Romans [ESV] 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed
from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their
unrighteousness suppress the truth.
This morning I’ve
been asked if I think this virus is God’s judgment upon us for the way the USA
now lives?
Not being a
prophet or insider I cannot give a timely answer. I can, however, present comment
Biblically and as a Christian observer.
1.
Yes, God’s record, especially in the Old
Testament, shows that He has and does exact judgment.
2.
The rule of CAUSE & EFFECT may also be a
factor. For instance, the wholesale practice of abortion effected/effects relationships,
our workforce, economy, national debt, taxes, the Social Security system etc.
3.
“pandemic” is in, “plague” is out.
4.
What is happening is not to our nation, but to
nations. Plural.
5.
The biblical record shows God giving opportunity
to embrace godliness (repent) and effects subside.
6.
We should be wary of Adamic blame-shifting.

PS. I’m in week 4 of voluntary quarantine. Getting along
dandy as are other introverts, as we have a lifetime of preparation. Praying
for the extroverts suffering confinement.
