THE PRIMARY REASON FOR COMPLIANCE
Romans [MKJV] 12:1-3 I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Jews and others
(“gentiles”) trusting Jesus Christ are dead to the law. (Romans chapter 6) The
Big 10 plus the 600+ others.
Jesus’ death,
burial, and resurrection provides forgiveness, liberty, and life abundant for
His John 1:12 family members; God’s grace, undeserved favor and spiritual
blessing now and eternally.
The unbiblical theology
of some denominations however has and continues to teach an olio of law and
grace; a misbegotten Moses 2.0. Jesus clearly demonstrates that there is not a
mix that works. (Mt.9:16-17; Mk.2:21-22; Lk.5:37) Doing so isn’t just
confusion, it is counter productive ending in wasting.
Though not judged
by the 10 Commandments, Jesus’s followers can look to them for moral definition
as His Holy Spirit indwelled teaches us all things (Jn.14:26). Particularly manifestation
of commandments 1 and 2 fulfilling all others.
Using # 8 to
explain the authentic worship truth: Why not steal? Because it is wrong?
Because not stealing is the right thing to do? Or because it is loving God and
others is Christians’ reasonable service, pleasing and the perfect will of God;
authentic worship?
