COMELY
Psalm 33:1-4 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Comely is an interesting
word. One of its definitions is “fit for”; praise fitting for us as Christians.
The word vis actually derived from “come”. I looked that up and discovered one
of the definitions is “to be born”.
There you are! If
we have been John 3:3; 1:12 born-again into God’s eternal kingdom we should
rejoice and sing praise! Then we are comely in His sight.
