RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OR EDIFICATION?
Proverbs [GW] 15:33 The fear of the LORD is discipline leading to wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Depending on the
individual, there may be a vast difference between religious education and
spiritual edification. Religious education can be forever learning but never
coming to the truth about God and self. (2Tim.3:5,7) This could include catechisms,
confirmations, baptisms, liturgies, Christmas and Easter passions, communions, Scripture
memorization . . . yet being sans the personal saving empowering knowledge of
the truth. Learned religious teacher and leader Nicodemus being a prime example.

Trusting the
Author and His Writing unto redemption is when true life changing edification
begins and continues. (Eccl.12:13; 2Tim.2:15-16; 3:10-17)
