COMPUTATION
Romans [MKJV] 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable
service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing
and perfect will of God.
2Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue, through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
One of my
enjoyable coworkers, for me but not all others, quietly listened to discussions
on the many topics examined in our workgroup. Then he would contribute,
sometimes pointing out “That does not compute.” This resulting in further consideration,
discussion, debate cool to heated – the dynamic sometimes going on for days
with more contributions of info and perspective. The workshop scrutiny making
for informal collegial education of persons and issues.
One of the benefits
was that few in that group were “granite heads”, most being individuals
allowing considerations.
For consideration
this morning I offer a “does not compute” work place this side of heaven 2Peter
1:2 issue: When Christians claim belief in God’s Word, why then do they go
elsewhere, relying on other then the sufficiency of the Word?
