Romans [GW] 10:10-11 By believing you receive God's approval, and by declaring your faith
you are saved. Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be
ashamed."
1Peter 3:13-17 Who will harm you if you are devoted to doing what is good? But even
if you suffer for doing what God approves, you are blessed. Don't be afraid of
those who want to harm you. Don't get upset. But dedicate your lives to Christ
as Lord. Always be ready to defend your confidence in God when anyone asks you
to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect. Keep
your conscience clear. Then those who treat the good Christian life you live
with contempt will feel ashamed that they have ridiculed you. After all, if it
is God's will, it's better to suffer for doing good than for doing wrong.
When’s the last
time you were personally asked “How’s your walk with the Lord going?”
Before happening
yesterday, I can’t remember the last time I was specifically asked.
Being confronted
with the old school question yesterday I wondered at first. Tomorrow I’ll tell
you, but for now I’d like to know how you answer the question? For your sake,
that is, not mine.
