DECISION MAKING AND THE WILL OF GOD: His Very Present Help
Last Sunday’s Daily Thoughts ended with
question addressing the issue knowing that we have free-will and that God
does not force or slavishly control us, how does He help?
Psalm 46 is one
place in Scripture that this question is summarily answered: “God is our refuge
and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear
though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the
sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its
swelling. Selah” (ESV)
From prayerful
Bible study, observation, and my life journey I know that His ever-present help
is His Word living (Jn.1:1, Jesus) and written (2Tim.3:10-17, The Bible) . . .
and that for His John 1:12; 3:3 born-again children, His indwelling comforting
and guiding Holy Spirit. (Jn.14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:4-15; 2Cor.6:16)
