PERFORMANCE
1Timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in
the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to
come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one
mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a
ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Christian religion
performance involves different ways. The John 14:6 Way or another way; the
result of hearing and believing the Biblical gospel as opposed a rule-based
way. The latter comprising forever learning but never coming to the knowledge of
the truth, producing attitude to action outside of God’s Truth. (2Tim.3:7)
Love of God and
people is proper motivation producing lively Romans 12:1-2 worship pleasing to
God. Jesus spoke of this. It is an obvious theme in God’s Word: Deut.7:9;
11:1,22; 19:9; 30:16; Josh.22:5; Dan.9:4; Mt.22:34-39; Jn.14:15; 15:10;
1Jn.5:2,3.
It’s like the
difference between obeying traffic rules because it’s the law and not wanting
to be penalized . . . or driving carefully because you love family, friends,
and strangers. As has been said, “Being a good driver alone doesn’t meet God’s
standard.” (Eph.2:8-10)
It is a great
tragedy that since Christ’ atoning death, burial, and resurrection there are wrong
way Christian denominations leading masses of people astray.
