The book of Job
I enjoy and
benefit from the company of a younger Bible reading partner several times a
week. Having began with Genesis 1:1 we take turns reading aloud, tracing and
making connections and discussing. Recently per their request we’ve jumped to
Job. When I inquired what they thought the story is about, “The patience of
Job?” . . . delightfully they responded that it’s about trust. Indeed so.
We noted how easy
it is to be distracted from important truth by first impressions taught.
I encourage you
to read the book of Job completely and carefully. There are many important
lessons there, about Jehovah God Almighty’s sovereignty, plus several about
Satan.
