A WHAT BECOMES A WHO

A WHAT BECOMES A WHO

Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Romans [ESV] 1:18-22 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

Have you met Klamath River? Not “Been there.”, but the person.

Yes, that geographical feature has been granted personhood.

Laugh we may, but the designation is not funny. Consider:

·         It is in direct opposition to creation.

·         It elevates men to deciding personhood.

·         It gives the Klamath civil rights as a person meaning that what once entailed the charge and penalty of pollution may now be the charge and penalty of assaulting a person.

·         It sets a legal precedent that could be applied to individual trees, mounds, hillocks, insects, animals (Look out deer hunters and poachers! In the future you may be charged with murder recent and/or past.) et al.

Talk about a bigtime butterfly effect!
