SIMPLY PUT

 SIMPLY PUT

2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

1Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

“When I am here, I am not there.” May sound like a simple-minded declaration but it illustrates the godly life.

In behind the walls’ classes I demonstrated this using 2 different spots on the floor. One representing evil, the other encompassing godliness. Then I would move back and forth from one to the other asking “Where am I now standing?” Never, ever, did this confuse a class. Their feedback said so. For some it was a revelation.

Then we would review some applicable portions of God’s Word.

1Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Philippians 1:27; 4:1 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; . . . Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

1Thessalonians 3:8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

2Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
