  Have you ever followed an impatient driver with a fish symbol on their bumper? Or acted out intolerance while sitting forward of such a declarative sticker? Or, far from a roadbed ….

  John 3:3 born-again believers are indwelt with God’s Holy Spirit. (Rom.8:1-2, 9, 16; 1Cor.3:16; 6:19; 2Cor.1:22; Eph.1:13)

  It is important to note that Galatians 5:22 doesn’t say “fruits”. The list of desirable characteristics is not separate entities. They are “fruit”. A cluster indicating God’s indwelling Spirit unquenched. (Rom.8:5) The lack of any one or several of the interrelated qualities reveals that we are quenching God’s Spirit within us. (Rom.8:5; Gal.5:16-17; Eph.4:30; 1Thes.5:19)

  If and when we are impatient we are quenching God’s Spirit within us.
